Our ability to make jewelry is a blessing from the universe. We’re so grateful for this talent & feel compelled to show gratitude by using the finest tools in the BB studio, our hands. As a small biz, we’re taking baby steps, but focused intentions are powerful & we aspire to give back by donating proceeds made through fabricating cause-curated collections or pieces.
The Cannacollection + Last Prisoners Project:
Our Winter 2021 collection is is finished & ready for take off. It was inspired by the infamous maryjane & naturally came to fruition a few months before the legalization in our home state of NY. The coincidence was somewhat serendipitous & felt like a sign from Spirit to move forward. So much has been lost from fear of what this plant is capable of. Today, there are over 40,000 cannabis prisoners in the United States alone, while countless others languish in jails & prisons worldwide. The Last Prisoner Project has one singular mission: to set them free. LPP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cannabis criminal justice reform. They were founded in 2019 out of the belief that if anyone is able to profit & build wealth in the legal cannabis industry, then work to release & rebuild the lives of those who have suffered from cannabis criminalization must be done. No one should remain incarcerated or continue to suffer the collateral consequences of prohibition & the War on Drugs which has & continues to disproportionately impact communities of color. In support of their fight to “full freedom” BB will be donating 1% of the Cannacollection’s proceeds to their organization.
The Source Series + Ethical Metalsmiths:
Our late summer series was inspired by challenging ourselves to let go & trust that we have all the materials that we need to create something meaningful. The #1 rule: no ordering supplies! It really allowed us to dig deep, try new things & shift our creative energy in a more positive direction. To celebrate, we’re donating 1% of this series sales to the Ethical Metalsmiths. They are a community of caring buyers, jewelers, designers, & suppliers who are committed to responsible, environmentally-sound practices for all facets of the Jewelry Industry. They strive to connect & educate people globally from mine to market. Their vision: a jewelry industry where a beautiful product does not bear a human or environmental toll.
